Plans & Pricing

Freshly has a familiar plan selection. You have the option of 4, 6, 10, or 12 meals per week. Be aware that each meal is for one serving only. So if you get a 4 meal plan to share with someone, you’d get 2 meals each.

Freshly also has two other brands associated with it: FreshlyFit and FreshlyBusiness. FreshlyFit focuses on clean meals including carb-conscious, high protein, and keto+paleo meals. The latter being aimed at businesses.

Below is a price breakdown of Freshly’s meal plans. Prices may differ due to variable delivery costs and taxes.

Freshly delivers to every state in the United States with the exception of Alaska and Hawaii.

  • Delivery can occur almost everyday (may differ based on area).
  • You can easily edit your delivery date for each week.
  • The meals are packaged in recyclable microwave-safe plastic containers.
  • Addresses can be edited by going to your settings.

Recipe Selection

After choosing your plan, you’ll be able to choose your meals (FreshlyFit included). Once you choose your first set of meals, you won’t be able to edit your selections!

Freshly offers about 30 meals on the initial set of meals. For the following meals, you get more meals to choose from.

When you edit your future meals, you can choose from their Signature Collection, FreshlyFit, Crafted Classics, and Takeout Twists. On initial glance, there are more than 30 meals to choose from.

Below is an example of what you’d see when choosing your meals initially and after the first week.

Skipping & Cancellation

To skip a week, click on “Deliveries” and scroll to the desired week. From there you will easily see the “Skip This Week” button.

To cancel your subscription, go to your settings and scroll down until you see “Cancel Subscription”. It’s in a smaller font but still easy to see.

Ingredients & Nutrition Facts

When you click a meal on Freshly’s menu, it shows you a summary of ingredients and nutrition facts. If you want, you can click to show all ingredients or the complete nutrition facts.

Below is an example for their Carb Smart Mojo Chicken. It’s very simple to navigate.

Inside The Box

On delivery day, you’ll receive a dark green box. It’s a nice and simple design. On either side of the box are the benefits of using Freshly (i.e. vitamin-rich veggies or watching the game instead of watching water boil).

Upon opening the box, you’ll see an ice pack on top. Under this, you’ll find your neatly organized meals ready to go. Under the meals are a second ice pack to keep everything cool. Your package may look different depending on your meal plan.

Meal Review

I got the 6 meal plan as each meal was only one serving. In the following sections, you’ll find a short summary of my thoughts on the meals. For a more in-depth look, check out my full reviews!

The first meal I got was the Steak Peppercorn. This sounds it could be a popular one. After trying it, this meal was alright. Steak isn’t really meant to be microwaved and it shows when you’re eating this meal.

The next meal was the Homestyle Chicken. This “American”-styled meal looked promising but wasn’t very fulfilling. The best part was the mac & cheese which was not plentiful. The other parts of the meal were lacking in flavor.

Next up were the Sausage and Cauliflower Shells. This meal was very delicious! There’s plenty of sausage to go along with this flavorful pasta. The only downside would be its lack of veggies.

Following that meal is the Sliced Turkey and Mushroom Demi-Glace. This was one of the few disappointments I’ve had while reviewing meal kits. The sliced turkey was more shredded than sliced. Almost everything (appearance, demi-glace, & carrots) wasn’t good.

Then we have a top rated meal in the K-Town Pork and Purple Sticky Rice. After trying this meal, I too think this is a fantastic meal. There’s amazing flavor in the pork and veggies that work extremely well with this unique rice.

Lastly is a FreshlyFit meal which is the Protein-Packed Chicken Parm. It’s a good meal overall with the only downside being the veggies. The broccoli tastes bland but the chicken is fantastic.

Freshly’s meals are a hit or miss. Some are great while others are not very good. If you’re interested in trying Freshly, I suggest looking at their top-rated meals. However, if you’re willing to take a risk, you can also try out meals that pique your interest.

Should You Try Freshly?

I’d recommend Freshly for anyone who:

  • Wants extremely quick and easy meals
  • Is too busy to cook but still wants delicious meals
  • Likes having a good amount of options to choose from
  • Likes to try new things without having to cook
  • Enjoys the convenience of takeout meals
